NEW OWNERS FOR SPEEDMART -
(2-1-10 @ 11:30 pm) - STRONG RUMOR
- Barry Martinez and Danny Kirkpatrick have bought major control
of SpeedMart in Burlington, Washington. Martinez is a
sprint car driver in the area and Kirkpatrick sponsors Shane
Stewart in the Silva #57. SpeedMart is a racer supply
company catering to the racers in the northwest part of the
country with sales across the country.
UPDATE #1 - (2-4-10 @ 10:00 pm) - FACT -
Barry Martinez and Danny Kirkpatrick have indeed joined forces
with Shawna Wilskey and Joe Tompkins to form a partnership in
SpeedMart Inc. The merger was arranged in mid November and is
now known as the Northwest's finest Sprint Car and Mini-Sprint parts
superstore. They are located in Burlington, WA.
HAULERS, PAINT SCHEMES UPDATED -
(2-4-10 @ 10:00 pm) - FACT - It has
been pretty slow in the "rumor" department in sprint car racing but
the new paint schemes photos are starting to flow. I have
recently updated the new paint schemes for 2010 and the new hauler
(2 of them) photos that I have been able to obtain. Stop by
the two sections and check them out.
ANOTHER NEW IBRACN.COM SPONSOR -
(2-4-10 @ 10:00 pm) - FACT
- Another sponsor
has jumped on board the IBRACN.com family of sponsors. Nick
McColloch has brought his web site and autograph card company to
IBRACN.com. Stop by his web site at
www.createwithshift.com
for more information. Welcome aboard Nick and
CreateWithShift.com.
KNOXVILLE NEEDS YOU - (2-1-10 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- Knoxville Raceway needs your input. They are currently
asking all fans to stop by their web site and cast your vote to see
what the fans want for their 50th Anniversary Knoxville Nationals A
feature. Do you want the A main to be 30 laps, 40 laps, or 50
laps? Stop by and cast your vote at
KnoxvilleRaceway.com.
BECKER RETIRES -
(2-1-10 @ 11:30 pm) - STRONG RUMOR
- It looks as if Eagle Raceway and the state of Nebraska will be
loosing another sprint car team in 2010. Bobby Becker Jr.
has decided to hang up his helmet. Becker drove his
familiar #8B weekly at Eagle Raceway and traveled in the area to
several ASCS Midwest events over the past several of years.
Bobby's son, Jason may be at the track in 2010 and you may see
Bobby around the car wrenching, but not behind the wheel.
Thanks for the memories in that silver #8B. See you at the
track.
CHADD CLOSES SHOP -
(2-1-10 @ 11:30 pm) - STRONG RUMOR
- Another very popular sprint car racing name calls it quits.
Long time sprint car name, Chadd Motorsports is closing up shop.
Driver Mike Chadd and father Noel has listed their entire race
team up for sale on Hoseheads Classifieds. This team has
always listed their stuff for sale at the end of the previous
season just to buy new, but this time seems for real. The
two have been heard saying racing isn't as much fun anymore and
the cost keep climbing out or reach. Sad to see another
iconic name disappear from the sprint car racing scene in
Nebraska.
MARTINEZ TRAVELING MORE -
(2-1-10 @ 11:30 pm) -
STRONG RUOMR - Barry Martinez will be getting a lot of
frequent flyer miles this summer. Martinez will be racing
a lot at Knoxville Raceway this summer. Washington
resident will be taking his show on the road with plans on
making the trek to Knoxville, Iowa on a fairly regular basis to
test his skills on the big half mile track. He does have a
new big sponsor just getting into the sport but more on that
announcement at a later date. Just another Washington
native making his way to Knoville....Travis Cramm was one driver
that started this trend off several years ago.
HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM -
(1-26-10 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
-
Please be patient with me as I am
having some difficulty with my computer. I bought a new
one and now the program I use to update my web site is not
compatible with my new Windows 7 program. I will have to
figure out what I am going to do but in the mean time, I will
try to update as much as possible on the old computer and old
program. I will have to hire someone to design a web site
for me or learn a new program for myself....that will be hard
considering I have no idea what I am doing for designing a web
site......we will see.
GOING RETRO -
(1-26-10 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT -
Look for a new retro look coming from
the Aaron Berryhill racing team. Berryhill will be
painting the car the same way it looked back in 1992 when he ran
with the World of Outlaws. He will have a red car with
gold leaf numbers when he hits the track with the ASCS, NCRA,
and the Sprint Bandits. That was a nice looking car back
in 1992 so stay tuned and I will get photos up once I receive
them.
WOLFGANG IN THE 7K -
(1-22-10 @ 7:15 am) - FACT -
Robby Wolfgang has been named the
driver of the Phillips Floors #7k for 2010. The team will
be running 410's at Knoxville Raceway weekly as well as running
the 360 in many events when possible. The team will be
using Wolfweld Chassis with Charlie Fisher engines. DeeZee
has come on board as a major sponsor for the team as well.
I've known about this deal for a couple of weeks now but was
told to sit on it while they finalize things. It will be
good to see another Wolfgang at the track at Knoxville.
WOLFGANG IN A 410 -
(12-13-09 @ 10:30 pm) - RUMOR
-
I'm hearing that Robby Wolfgang will be
driving a 410 at Huset's Speedway in 2010. They don't plan
on running any 360 stuff unless they can find someone to lend
them a motor during the season. He is teaming up with a
team from Minnesota. They are talking about sponsorship before
they announce their plans.
UPDATE #1 - (1-10-10 @ 10:00 pm) - FACT -
You will be seeing Robby Wolfgang in a 410 at Huset's Speedway
in 2010. Robby will be driving a car that is owned by his
dad (Doug Wolfgang) with motors being provided by Bill Smith.
Sponsors are not yet confirmed but the team is working with
several to help put together the Wolfweld chassis. Good
luck to Robby and team in 2010. Stay tuned for more
information regarding Robby's 2010 plans as they develop.
UPDATE #1 - (1-22-10 @ 7:15 am) - FACT
- Due to the developments in
Robby's career with the above mentioned #7k ride, this deal he
and his dad Doug have been working on has been stopped.
They have decided to put their focus on the 7K ride and try to
get that team up to speed.
16 WoO DRIVERS -
(1-20-10 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT -

CHILI BOWL ON SPEED -
(1-20-10 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- No this isn't a funny Youtube video but rather an announcement
that the 2010 Chili Bowl will be on the SPEED channel for all to
see on Saturday, February 13, at 9:00 est. If you were
like me and unable to attend, this is a must see as Sammy
Swindell made a bid for his 6th Golden Driller trophy but came
up two spots short as his son, Kevin Swindell took home the
trophy and money. Tune in on Friday the 13th.
ICE STORM
POSTPONES “SALUTE TO BOB TROSTLE”
-
(1-20-10 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
-
Today’s winter ice storm in
Knoxville, which is forecast to last until 6 a.m. tomorrow, has
forced the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum to postpone
Thursday night’s planned “Salute to Bob Trostle” reception until
the next available date in the “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday
Series, which is February 18. Said curator Tom Schmeh, “It’s
unfortunate that we had to do this, but we know that we had
people coming from out-of-state to attend our special reception
for Bob Trostle. It’s better to get the word out early than
wait until the last minute when we are faced with this type of
bad weather situation.”
Those individuals interested in
learning more about the “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series
at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum are urged to
visit

KAUFFMAN TEAMS WITH DARRAH -
(1-18-10 @ 8:15 am) - RUMOR -
There is a post on the Hoseheads.com
message board stating that veteran driver Keith Kauffman will be
behind the wheel of the Darrah Motorsports #89 this year.
There is no mention of this rumor on Kauffman's web site or
anywhere else for that matter. I'll check into it a little
further.

ride for 2010. It was announced today that Tyler Walker
will be heading to Pennsylvania to race this summer. He

LOYET STILL NEEDS PAID -
(1-11-10 @ 10:45 pm) - RUMOR
- The hot rumor
going around the pits at the Chili Bowl during practice day is
that Brad Loyet is still waiting for his pay check for winning
both nights of the Bull Ring midget nationals in late December.
Word is that Brad still has not received his $17,000 for
sweeping the midget races inside Kansas City's Kemper Arena.
The rumor is that if he does not receive payment by tomorrow
(Tuesday) it may cost Danny Lasoski his seat in one of the Loyet
Motorsports midgets for the Chili Bowl. Lasoski was one
of the promoters for this event and there is a problem with
teams getting paid for this event. Click
HERE for a thread on Racinboys.com for more details
regarding this topic. Several gocart and micro midget
teams have yet to get paid for racing the week prior to the
Midget race. We will have to see what happens as Danny
Lasoski is scheduled to race Tuesday night in a Loyet
Motorsports midget.
UPDATE #1 -
(1-12-10 @ 9:00 pm) - FACT
- No word yet on what (if
anything) has taken place down in Tulsa but Danny Lasoski did
take to the track in the Loyet Motorsports #05L. I did
want to make something clear on this deal.....Danny Lasoski has
no financial responsibilities with the Bull Ring Midget
Nationals. His name was used to promote the event and that
was all. He was there to help where he could. He was
guilty by association only. Scott Pennington (co-promoter
of the event) is the guy responsible for paying all participants
and is working to get this problem resolved. I'm trying to
dig up some info on this situation between Brad Loyet and Danny
Lasoski if there even was a situation. Stay Tuned. UPDATE #2 -
(1-13-10 @ 9:30 pm) - FACT
- Speedway Motors has posted on their
Facebook.com page that Danny Lasoski is out of the Loyet
Motorsports #05 machine effective immediately. I just got
a text stating that the 05 car is sitting there and the name
plate is off of the car. No reasons
given but you can decide for yourself.

HANNAGAN'S NEW RIDE -
(1-6-10 @ 10:00 pm) - FACT -
Randy Hannagan will
not be in the familiar family owned #1x next season as he will
be bolting his seat into the Dave Jessup #7K machine. The
team will be running between 45-60 sprint car races with the 410
and select 360 events. The #7K machine will be sponsored
by AAA Miami Valley. Good luck to Randy and team.
PETE'S SELLING OUT -
(1-6-10 @ 10:00 pm)
- STRONG RUMOR -
I'm hearing that Pete Postupak has
sold a lot of his equipment and is getting out of sprint car
racing. Pennsylvania sprint car driver
Doug
Dodson has bought the Postupak Truck and Trailer. Pancho's
Race Products has a bunch of the teams parts to sell and crew
chief Brain Boughter is now with the Adam Wilt team. This
is a turn of events as Brooke Tatnell was going to drive this
car in select events in Pennsylvania. The #25 team, done!.
PARKER PARKS IT -
(1-6-10 @ 10:00 pm)
- FACT
-
I received an email from long time
Nebraska sprint car driver/owner that he has made a very hard
and painful decision to get out of sprint car racing effectively
immediately. Dennis cited the cost of racing and other
factors caused him to make the decision he didn.
Everything is for sale so if you are in need so good sprint car
parts, contact Dennis Parker at
Sprintracer3@aol.com.
Dennis has been either a
driver or car owner since 1974 and the black #3 will be missed
at sprint car tracks in Nebraska. Sorry to see you go but
I understand why.
NEW WoO TEAM -
(1-4-10 @ 1:00 pm) - STRONG RUMOR
-
There was a post on
the Williams Grove Speedway message board by crew chief Kirk
Dewease that there is a new team getting set to join the WoO
tour in 2010. Arizona driver Ben Gregg will be joining the
tour. Kirk Dewease will be the crew chief and the team
will have primary sponsorship from Kronik Energy Drink.

next season.
JIM HANNAGAN DIES - (12-31-09 @ 10:00 am) - FACT
- Everyone,

Randy lost his father recently. Jim was one of Randy's
biggest fans and was with him at the track as much as possible.
Keep the Hannagan's in your prayers during this tough time.

WALKER RIDE LOOKING -
(12-16-09 @ 8:00 am) - FACT
-
Another one
bites the dust. Tyler Walker was informed yesterday that
his SC Motorsports ride is shutting down operation. The
NMI #24 team has shut the doors and everything is for sale.
That leaves Tyler Walker without a ride. The
following is the press release from Tyler Walker.....After
being crowned the 2009 King of California champion with a record
breaking season winning 9 out of 21 races, Tyler is looking for
a full-time ride with any competitive motorsports team that’s
willing to have a determined and highly knowledgeable driver
that has proven to be a winner. Please contact Tyler by email at
info@tylerwalker.com.
Good luck to Tyler in finding a ride so he can display his great
talents behind the wheel of a sprint car....he is fun to watch.
UPDATE #1 - (12-31-09 @
10:00 am) - FACT - Not much has changed
for Tyler Walker since my original post. Tyler continues
to look for a sprint car ride for next season. Keep him in
mind if you are looking for a driver that will put you car up
front.

Strausbaugh and his son Jimmy. Chad will again run his own
410 at Lincoln Speedway in 2010.
STATE FAIR SPEEDWAY NEEDS YOUR HELP
- (12-13-09 @ 10:30
pm) - FACT
-
The State Fair
Speedway in Oklahoma City, OK has cancelled their 2010 season.
The OKC city council has deemed the track unsafe due to some
electrical wires and those wires must be moved prior to any
racing at the track. The council has stated that track
promoter must move some electrical wires at his own expense.
The problem is that the track is on a short time frame and will
probably be closed by the 2012 racing season to make room for a
parking lot. Go to the State Fair Speedway web site for
more info and to find out how you can help. Click
HERE for the
link to the web site. UPDATE #1 - (12-18-09 @

Join the effort by becoming a member of their

PITTMAN AND ROTH? -
(12-2-09 @ 7:30 am)
- RUMOR - Daryn
Pittman appears to be having a busy off season. Currently,
he is the driver of the Keen #17 out of Pennsylvania.
Pittman is rumored to be a finalist to take over the seat of the
Bass Pro Shops #20 on the WoO tour. Now, I'm hearing that
he is in negotiations with Dennis Roth regarding the possibility
of putting a car back on the WoO tour in 2010. We will see
where Pittman ends up. UPDATE
#1 - (12-7-09 @ 10:30 pm) - RUMOR - It appears that this
rumor is getting closer to a fact. I'm hearing that this
deal is all but official and Daryn Pittman will be back on the
WoO tour in 2010 with Dennis Roth Motorsport and the famous #83
sprint car. There continues to be some negotiations going
on between Roth and Pittman but this is just about
official.....according to my sources. Tim Kaeding will
remain with Roth and be a teammate to Pittman and run a similar
schedule as he did in 2009.
UPDATE #2 - (12-18-09 @
7:30 am) -
FACT
-
Daryn Pittmas stays with Keen Motorsports. The
following was a post made by Mandy Pittman on the Williams Grove
message board........Despite all the RUMORS surrounding Daryn
for the 2010 season he has always been and is still the proud
driver of the Keen Motorsports #17 team. Look for the team to
have new apparel and a schedule out soon! Thanks Mandy Pittman
WASMUND'S NEW RIDE -
(12-15-09 @ 7:30 am) - RUMOR
-
Dusty Wasmund will be
in a new ride for 2010. Wasmund has teamed up with the
Loren Barstaad machine. The Barstaad machine was driven by
Robby Wolfgang last season. The car will have a new
number and will be staying close to home next year.
UPDATE #1 - (12-16-09 @ 8:00 am) - RUMOR
-
Loren Barstaad will not only be teaming up with Dusty Wasmund to
drive his car at Huset's, he will be helping out Casey Heser in
his #75c machine. Heser races at Jackson Speedway (MN) and
Barstaad will be providing motors for the 75c car.
UPDATE #2 - (12-18-09 @
7:30 am) -
FACT
-
To get this all straight, Dusty Wasmund will still be in his #5w
but will be getting assistance from Loren Barstaad in the form
of motors and mechanical assistance. The team has yet to
decide on a schedule but they will run locally at Huset's and
try to get out and hit some closer JSTS/ASCS events.
Barstaad will be helping out Casey Heser in the same fashion, by
providing motors and mechanical help at Jackson Speedway.
AG MOTORSPORT BACK IN 2010 - (12-18-09 @ 7:30 am)
- FACT
- Ron Aurand will be back in
the AG MotorSports 86 305 next season. As with many teams,
they are searching for some funding to allow them to race all
season long. They are allowing fans to donate what they
can if they are interested in helping sponsor the team.
Ron is also talking to a couple of guys about running a back up
410 at select races this season. No plans with the 410 are
set yet just in the very early discussions from what I
understand Ron is looking at running just one or two 410 shows
if he can get a ride for next season.
ZOMER'S 2010 PLANS -
(12-13-09 @ 10:30
pm) - RUMOR
-
I'm hearing that Dusty
Zomer may be in the Vander Ecken #10 for the 2010 season at
Knoxville Raceway. The two groups are talking at this
time. Zomer won 2 feature events at Knoxville in 2009
driving the Gifford #17g machine.
UPDATE
#1 - (12-15-09 @ 7:30 am) - FACT -
Dusty Zomer will not be in the VanderEcken #10 in 2010.
The VanderEcken car will continue to be driven by Rager
Phillips. It appears that Zomer will be fielding his own
ride both at Knoxville and at Huset's.
STEWART IN AUSTRALIA -
(12-13-09 @ 10:30
pm) - FACT
-
I'm hearing that Tony
Stewart will be spending some of his winter racing sprint cars
over in Australia. He will be racing at Parramatta for
four nights of racing. My source tells me that the TSR
team shipped two Schatz #15 sprint cars and three Kinser #20
cars over and will be sold while there. Smoke continues to
race, even in the off season.
AMERICANS IN AUSTRALIA -
(12-13-09 @ 10:30 pm) -
STRONG RUMOR
-
There appears to be a
growing number of American drivers heading over to Australia to
race in the off season. Shane Stewart, Randy Hannagan,
Terry McCarl (in a Big Game Tree Stands car), Criag Dollasnsky,
Jason Sides, Tim Keading, and Danny Smith will be racing
in the Classic at the Bool. Brent and Bud Kaeding, Cody
Darrah, and Cap Henry will be racing in Brisbane. I'm sure
there are more but that is all I have at this time. Good
luck to the Americans down under.
CROCKER PART TIME -
(12-13-09 @ 10:30 pm) -
FACT
-
Speed TV is reporting
that Erin Crocker will field a sprint car team with her new
husband Ray Evernham. The team will run a part-time
schedule across the USA and will not be following any specific
series. Erin was running the Phoenix Racing #59 last
season but that seat will be filled by Brooke Tatnell.
There is no report of sponsors, car number, or schedule at this
time.
TSR #20 -
(12-7-09 @ 10:30 pm) - RUMOR
-
So who is going to be
driving the TSR #20 in 2010? That is the burning question.
It is reported that Tyler Walker, Daryn Pittman and Jason
Solwold have been interviewed by the TSR team. It appears
that Pittman may be driving for Roth so that drops him out of
the running. I'm hearing that Solwold is not in
consideration and that Walker continues to be in the fold as the
next driver of the #20 mount. Well, now there appears to
be another contender and that is Steve Kinser. There is a
message board poster on IndianaOpenWheel.com that states he
talked to Kinser at the trade show at Indy last week and he
acknowledged the fact that they are talking. Scott Gerkin
has denied this rumor and Jimmy Carr has said SK is the new
driver of the car. Quaker State appears to have a say in
the deal as well. This is the best kept secret right now.
It sounds like it is between Tyler Walker and Steve Kinser at
this time. UPDATE
#1 - (12-9-09 @ 9:30 pm) - RUMOR - Here is what I'm
hearing now.....Tony Stewart bought the SKR #11 team and Steve
Kinser will be running the TSR #11 (not the #20) with Bass Pro
Shops as the primary sponsor. It will be Steve's team with
TSR paying the bills. TSR needed to put a big name driver
in the seat or lose the BPS sponsorship. Kraig Kinser will
be driving the SKR #11K with Quaker State as an associate
sponsor and will be on the WoO tour. No word on primary
sponsorship for the #11K. The #20 will not be around
unless Jessica Zemken decides to run that number. This is
what I'm hearing now.
UPDATE #2 - (12-11-09 @ 7:30
am) - FACT -
Like I said......It was revealed in a
press release yesterday that Kraig Kinser will be in the Steve
Kinser Racing #11K and Steve Kinser will be in the Bass Pro
Shops sprint car from Tony Stewart Racing. Click

MODERN DAY COWBOY RIDE LOOKING
- (12-9-09 @ 9:30
pm) - FACT -
One of the most exciting non-wing sprint car drivers in the
country is looking for a ride in 2010. Daron Clayton is
looking for a ride in a wing or non-wing sprint car in any
series for 2010. He has drove his family owned team for
most of his career but now is looking for other opportunities.
He will bring his seat, shocks, and a 110% effort to the deal.
Good luck in finding something for next season.
BUSH AT KEMPER -
(12-9-09 @ 9:30 pm) - RUMOR -
A rumor floating around on the message boards is that NASCAR
driver Kyle Busch will be at Kemper Arena driving a Loyet
Motorsports midget in the Bull Ring Midget Nationals next
weekend (Dec 18-19) This could be fun to watch.
KRUSEMAN AND BONDIO SPLIT -
(12-7-09 @ 10:30 pm) - FACT
-
A couple of sure
things when it comes to the Chili Bowl.....Sammy Swindell will
win or contend for the win each year and Cory Kruseman will be
in the Bondio #47. Well, not this year. After
several successful years together and a few championships, they
have decided to go their separate ways. Cory Kruseman will
field 5 cars out of his own stable while Bondio will have
Garrett Hansen in one of his two cars. Hansen won the USAC
Western Midget title in 2009 for Bondio and will test his skills
in Tulsa looking for his first Golden Driller trophy.

#6 DANNY LASOSKI -
(11-16-09 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- In an effort to squash the rumors surrounding the
Casey's General Store #6, I am reporting tonight as FACT that
Danny Lasoski will be back behind the wheel of the JEI machine.
The team had a sit down meeting after the World Finals event in
Concord, NC and have worked everything out for 2010. Barry
Jackson is currently in the shop building cars to Lasoski's
specifications and getting the red machines ready for the 2010
WoO season. Take this one to the bank. Now all of
the rumors that Casey's is going to Steve Kinser, a plethora of
different drivers taking over the 6 car (Kraig Kinser) and many
other rumors can stop.
UPDATE #1 - (12-2-09 @
7:30 am) - FACT
-
Now this is officially FACT.
A press release was sent out yesterday stating that Danny
Lasoski will be the driver of the Parson's #6 on the WoO tour
for the 2010 racing season.....something I have been reporting
since September 23.
WILLIAMS GROVE TO GOOD YEAR -
(12-2-09 @
7:30 am) - FACT
- It
is now official, Williams Grove Speedway will be requiring all
of its 410 drivers to use Good Years on the LR and RR corners of
their sprint cars in 2010. As a result, the payout will
increase as will the point fund purse. Look for Lincoln
Speedway to announce their commitment to Good Year shortly as
well as Port Royal switching to Good Year.
BOAT SELLING OUT -
(11-30-09 @ 11:00
pm) - FACT -
This is a little late but for
those of you that do not visit
IndianaOpenWheel.com,
Billy Boat has posted on the message board that he is selling
out the entire operation. He is selling the midgets,
sprint cars, a the 8,000 sq. ft. race shop. He will
separate the midgets and sprint cars but is considering offers
to rent the equipment as well. See the post
HERE. There is no word on what Chad Boat's plans are
at this time. Another midget/sprint car team done....sad.
WILLIAMS GROVE/LINCOLN TIRE DEAL -
(11-24-09 @ 12:45 pm) - RUMOR -
Williams Grove
Speedway and Lincoln Speedway have yet to announce which tire
deal they are going with in 2010. I'm hearing it is
because they want to adopt Good Year but Port Royal has a
Hoosier deal. What difference does that make you
ask.....the powers that be at W.G. and Lincoln as concerned with
what that will do to PA Speedweeks and their regular shows.
Cars will have to buy Hoosiers and Good Years to compete at
these different tracks and that would be a huge expense to the
teams. The concern is that car counts will be affected in
the Speedweek events with the different tire manufacturers at
different tracks. Once they can solve that issue, look for
an announcement from W.G. and Lincoln. I'm hearing that
Hoosier is going to allow Port Royal Speedway out of the
contract if W.G. and Lincoln do decide to go to Good Year
tires.....and if Port Royal Speedway chooses to opt out.
NEW TSR DRIVER -
(11-20-09 @ 10:45 pm) - STRONG RUMOR
-
I'm hearing that the team has
settled on the new driver of the #20 Bass Pro Shops ride for
2010 but it has not been released yet. The new driver
appears to be Jason Solwold. My source states that the press release will not be out for a few
more days. Jason Solwold in the Bass Pro Shops #20 Maxim
on the WoO tour in 2010.
UPDATE #1 - (11-21-09 @
2:30 pm) - RUMOR
-
Not so fast, this is not a done deal.
I'm hearing that Daryn Pittman will be in Indiana on Wednesday
to interview for this ride. Also, there is another driver
that has been interviewed but I have been sworn to secrecy and
can't reveal that drivers name. He is a good one.
UPDATE #2 - (11-24-09 @
12:45 pm) - RUMOR -
Well it isn't much of a
secret now that the message boards have all discovered it but
the driver mentioned above that has been interviewed by TSR is
Tyler Walker. Walkers myspace page has Bass Pro Shop logos
all over it in an attempt to impress the powers that be that
will be making a decision on the new driver of the TSR #20.
You can check out his myspace page by clicking
HERE.
BOYCOTT AT LINCOLN -
(11-21-09 @ 2:30 pm) - RUMOR -
I'm hearing that the 358
sprint cars that race at Lincoln Speedway have been talking
about boycotting the Pennsylvania track in protest of the
current payout. The 358 group is frustrated about the fact
that almost every time a different class of cars comes in to
race at Lincoln Speedway, their payout is much higher than what
the purse if for the 358's that run thereregularly.
We will have to see how this plays out.
HINES OUT AT TSR -
(11-21-09 @ 2:30 pm) - FACT -
This is a little late to hit
this web site but Tracy Hines has been let go from the TSR USAC
ride. Hines is currently 4th in the USAC sprint car series
points with just a few races left. He is found other rides
to close out this season and it is unknown what his 2010 plans
are.
KINSER GONE -
(11-19-09 @ 9:45 pm) - STRONG RUMOR
- I'm hearing that it has happened.....Kraig Kinser has
been released from the TSR #20 machine. Everyone has
speculated that this was going to happen due to the poor
performance of the Bass Pro Shops machine and now it appears to
have happened. No press release to make it official but it
appears to have finally happened.
UPDATE #1 - (11-20-09 @ 10:45 pm) - FACT
- It is
official, Kraig Kinser has been released form his driving duties
in the TSR Bass Pro Shops #20 sprint car team. TSR made
the statement earlier this afternoon. No word on who will
replace Kinser. There are a lot of people tossing around a
lot of different names but nothing official from TSR.
SALDANA/KKR NEWS - (11-19-09 @ 9:45 pm) - FACT
- Joey Saldana was interviews on
RubberRacer.com
and revealed a little bit of KKR team info for the 2010 racing
season. He said the his sponsors will be back for next
season and that they are picking up 15 new cars for 2010.
5 chassis for each team in Saldana, Darrah, and Sweet. He
said he is "pretty sure" that the team will stay with the Mopar
power. He said the Mopars are better in the racing while
Chevy are better for qualifying but felt Mopar is working hard
on the motors to help with qualifying. He is excited to
have Darrah as a teammate and feels he will be good in the #19
car.
BROOKE IN THE 59 RIDE ? -
(11-16-09 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- It is being reported on a couple of different message
boards that Brooke Tatnell will be behind the wheel of the
Phoenix Racing #59 for 2010. This is the car Erin Crocker
drove in 2009.
UPDATE #1 - (11-19-09 @
9:45 pm) - FACT
-
I have been informed that Brooke Tatnell is in the Phoenix
Racing #59 car for 2010. The schedule has yet to be
determined and will be dependant on sponsorship the team hopes
to get. The team will be based out of Brooke's Minnesota
race shop. Brooke will also be in the Pete Postupak #25.
The #25 team is trying to put together a good sponsorship
package so that team can race more as well. Combined,
Brooke hopes to fill up his racing schedule utilizing both cars.
Tatnell is deserving of a little good luck and I hope things
work out for Brooke Tatnell in 2010.

KNOXVILLE DIRT WORK -
(11-16-09 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- Knoxville Raceway has been busy doing a lot of dirt
work on the famed half mile race track. 150-200 loads of
dirt has been dumped in the turns in preparation for 2010.
This is the first time the track has added dirt since prior to
the 2004 racing season. Stop by the Knoxville Raceway web
site for more info.

- The promoter at Jackson Speedway (MN) has been busy
doing a lot of dirt work to the track. They are in the
process of widening the corners to make the racing surface more

YELEY READY TO RACE -
(11-16-09 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- J.J. Yeley is ready to return to the seat of a race
car. Yeley was injured in August at Lakeside Speedway when
he went into turn one and hooked a rut, sending the car into a
wild series of flips. The crash ended up fracturing a
vertebrae causing a surgery and a long rehab. Now, he is
ready to go and currently in the process of talking to anyone
that needs a driver.
16th STREET SPEEDWAY -
(11-16-09 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- The historical Indianapolis dirt track is now a junk
car lot. The track use to be a baseball diamond for the
minor league baseball team but was turned into a small dirt
track. The area has set idol for several years until
recently when a junk year needed more storage space for cars
from the governments Cash for Clunkers program. Now, there
are hundreds of junk cars being stored in the inside of the
brick walls.
BLACK HILLS SPEEDWAY -
(11-16-09 @ 11:30 pm) - FACT
- Black Hills Speedway is now under new ownership.
Former Rapid City, SD mayor recently bought the track and has
named former sprint car driver Shane Liebig as the promoter.
They are budgeting alot of
money to revamp the whole facility. They have many
investors behind them and big plans for the future on the half
mile race track. They are starting with new lighting so it
will be bright like Knoxville with a new chain link fence around
the whole property. New billboards are planned for
advertising as well. They are going to raise the purse to
try in get back to a car count in the high 20s to mid 30s for
weekly Friday night shows. Everyone in the area is very excited
about this new acquisition. Finally someone has bought the
track that has the money and the resources to take this place
back to what it once was. This is a great deal for sprint cars
in western South Dakota. With Liebig calling the shots, it
will be a dictatorship with ASCS rules, a set pay, and proper
funding for the race teams planning on racing.
HOCKETT RIDE LOOKING -
(11-9-09 @ 10:30 pm) - FACT -
I just received an
email from Jesse Hockett that states he will be looking for a
ride at the conclusion of the 2009 racing season. Tom Buch
has elected to leave the team at season end. Hockett has
won 21 feature events in 2009 in wing and non-wing sprint cars.
His email is as follows.....Fact
Jesse hockett is ride searching after 21 wins this season and a
couple huge wins at East Bay and Oskaloosa. The change will be
made at seasons end after the final ASCS event Tom Buch is
leaving as co owner of the vkcc number 13 car. The VKCC team may
continue if another partner or sponsor is found and Jesse would
be back to the number 75 car, but he is weighing all options
wing or non wing for 2010. Good
luck in finding a good sponsor/team for one of the remaining
"Outlaws" of sprint car racing.
